Dilution & Safety

Chamomile essential oil is concentrated botanical material. For skin applications, dilute to 0.5% to 2% in a carrier oil (roughly 3 to 12 drops per ounce) and patch test first. Keep away from eyes, and out of reach of children and pets. Not for internal use. Store tightly capped in a cool, dark place away from sunlight and heat.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this chamomile essential oil really pure?
Yes. Our chamomile essential oil is 100% pure and undiluted, steam-distilled from Matricaria chamomilla blossoms with no carriers, fragrances, or additives. Every batch is backed by a lab-verified Certificate of Analysis. We recommend a patch test before topical use and always diluting in a carrier oil.
Is this German chamomile or Roman chamomile?
This is German chamomile, distilled from Matricaria chamomilla. Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile) is a different species that yields a pale, straw-colored oil with a lighter apple scent. German chamomile is the deep blue variety, richer and rounder, and the classic choice for skincare and evening blends.
What does chamomile essential oil smell like?
Sweet, herbaceous, and gently fruity, often compared to fresh apples and hay. It sits in the middle of a blend and pairs beautifully with lavender, bergamot, geranium, clary sage, cedarwood, and sweet orange.
Why is the oil blue?
The blue comes from chamazulene, a compound that forms naturally during steam distillation of German chamomile. It is a hallmark of true chamomile oil, and the shade can vary a little from batch to batch.
How should I dilute it for skin use?
For most cosmetic uses, a 0.5% to 2% dilution works well, which is roughly 3 to 12 drops per ounce of a carrier oil such as jojoba or sweet almond. Start at the low end and patch test on a small area first.
What sizes do you offer? Do you sell wholesale?
We offer nine sizes, from a 0.5 oz starter bottle up to 400 lbs for wholesale buyers, with bulk pricing built into the larger sizes. Select a size above or contact us for custom orders.
Do larger sizes cost less per ounce?
Yes. Bulk pricing is built directly into the size ladder, so the per-ounce cost falls steadily as sizes grow. On the current chamomile ladder, the 400 lb drum works out to less than half the per-ounce price of the 0.5 oz starter bottle.
Can I get lab documentation with a bulk order?
Yes. Every batch we sell is covered by the lab-verified Certificate of Analysis published on this site, at every size. If your production or compliance process needs anything further, contact us before ordering and we will confirm what we can provide.
Which size should I choose?
If you are new to chamomile essential oil, the 0.5 oz or 1 oz bottle is a great start, since a few drops go a long way. Regular diffuser users often prefer 2 to 4 oz, while soap makers and formulators typically choose 8 oz and larger.
What is your shipping policy?
Orders ship within 1 to 2 business days. Bulk orders of 5 lbs and up may need additional handling time. Checkout is handled securely through our Shopify store.
